Gen. Peter J. Schoomaker, the Army Chief of Staff, awards Spc. Christopher Wixim of the 173rd Airborne Brigade the Combat Infantryman's badge during a ceremony held at the Golden Lion Oct. 19. Gen. Schoomaker presented several brigade soldiers returning from Iraq with medals ranging from CIB's to Bronze Stars and Purple Hearts. He spoke to the soldiers and family members assembled, thanking them for their service and said the nation is very proud of the Army for its role in the global war on terrorism. Gen.
