BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan — On Tuesday, the members of the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade paid respect to one of their fallen troopers, but not one who died on the battlefield.

Pfc. Ashley Cecelia Barnes-Lambert, 18, was found stabbed to death in the back of her husband's SUV Saturday, while home in Clarksville on mid-tour leave.

Her husband, Khaleefa Lambert, has been accused of stabbing her and putting her body in the back seat of the car before it was discovered by Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers on Interstate 24.

On Tuesday, Barnes-Lambert's fellow soldiers paid their last respects to her at Jalalabad Air Field, Afghanistan. Col. Ron Lewis, commander of the 159th CAB, said Barnes-Lambert will be deeply missed.

"The thoughts and prayers of the entire brigade are with that family, and that formation," he said Tuesday night in his office at Bagram Air Field. "All of our troopers are precious to us."
